Ordinary People (1980)

Release Year: 1980
Director: Robert Redford
Main Cast: Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore, Judd Hirsch, Timothy Hutton
Synopsis: Beth, Calvin, and their son Conrad are living in the aftermath of the death of the other son. Conrad is overcome by grief and misplaced guilt to the extent of a suicide attempt. He is in therapy. Beth had always preferred his brother and is having difficulty being supportive to Conrad. Calvin is trapped between the two trying to hold the family together. (source.)
Where I saw it: On demand at home.
Comments: This was something I saw with my dad mostly to humor him. I didn’t want to like it, mostly because I had other things I wanted to do and wanted an excuse to leave. Ultimately, however, I guess I liked it well enough. I’m not sure what else to say about it.
